Action Packed Times

Making wigs has kept some children in Room 27 busy and on Wig Wednesday some will get to wear them. This event is to raise funds for and awareness of child cancer.

The science experiments have been lots of fun.

The class have had an opportunity to create their own tapa cloth designs.

The children continue to enjoy the Taekwon Do sessions they have had.

Welcome back to Term  Two
Room 27 have been very busy doing Taekwon Do and science experiments on water.

Room 27 students are on the move and practicing their new skills of self defense.

Having Fun

E.O.T.C week was lots of fun. The children got to do a variety of activities. Orienteering was a highlight and so was the making of a bait trap.

Learning basic first aid was another activity, where the children picked up some useful skills.

The children learnt how to deal with blisters, a blood nose, sprains, bee stings , cuts and scrapes, how to put someone in the recovery position, call for an ambulance and how to put together a makeshift stretcher. 

Some children created works of art using natural things from the environment.

It has been a very busy time at school and we are looking forward to the Easter break.

Room 27 Happenings For 2016

Celebrating cultures of the people in Room 27 is how we started the year. We have 15 different cultures in our class.

The children wrote about the school powhiri, then they shared how they spent Waitangi Day and what it means to them. 

Quite a few people went to the Chinese Lantern Festival where they saw some awesome sights.

Settling into work and classroom routines is what the class are busy doing now. Reading groups are underway.

Oral presentations of 'It's Cool To Be Me' are happening.

Swimming has started and will take place all this week as well as in week 7.

Next week is EOTC and the children will need their swimming gear on Wednesday. Lots of fun things will be taking place for learning outside the classroom.

Back to School

Welcome back. It is the last term and we have lots of work to do before the end of the year. For the Year 6 children this will be your last term at New Windsor Primary School.

Hopefully we will have some warmer weather. Room 27 have had a busy start with Rugby taster day, and The Big Shake Out.

Over the last few weeks Room 27 have experienced a number of fun things. We recently went to Tri-Star gym where the children had fun trying out a different gym equipment.
