Back to School

Welcome back. It is the last term and we have lots of work to do before the end of the year. For the Year 6 children this will be your last term at New Windsor Primary School.

Hopefully we will have some warmer weather. Room 27 have had a busy start with Rugby taster day, and The Big Shake Out. 

Room 27 Happenings

Over the last few weeks Room 27 have experienced a number of fun things. We recently went to Tri-Star gym where the children had fun trying out a different gym equipment. 

School Speech Competition

On Thursday the 3rd of September the school speech finals were held. The standard was very high and the topics were really interesting. From Room 27 Nashanya, Calum and Chester were our selected finalists. They each had interesting speech topics. Congratulations goes out to them all. Chester won the overall competition and will represent the school at the inter-school competition. His speech on reading was well delivered. 

We wish him all the best at the inter-school speeches. Kia kaha Chester.

Book Week

On Thursday we had the school book parade and most of the class dressed in costumes appropriate to the farming theme. A few children chose other interesting costumes according to book choices. Shreenidhi was fortunate to get a prize for her authentic Indian farmers costume.                                                

 

Farm Visit

Last week Room 27 and Room 24 visited the Mount Albert Grammar farm where the children saw the farmer shearing a sheep and they also had the opportunity to milk a cow. They saw lots of farm animals such as a sow and her piglets, cows and calves, hens and chickens. It was an interesting and fun trip for all.

 

 

 

 

Bigfoot cycling

Last week we had Bigfoot cycling tutors  in at school to teach the children about cycling safety. The children had lots of fun and learnt a few tricks. 

Swimming

We have just started our swimming rotation for term 3, and the children are having fun!
